Artist Statement

In Light and Stillness

Symmetry and patterns captivate me. When sunlight casts the perfect shadow, it feels like nature and design are in conversation—and I can’t help but stop and capture that fleeting moment. The light is always moving, and what I see in that instant will never appear the same way again.

I explore the interplay of light and shadow, capturing the intricate patterns that emerge within architectural forms. Through black and white photography, I emphasize stark contrasts and subtle nuances that define our built environment. Each image becomes a study in abstraction—an invitation to see familiar structures in a new light and to appreciate the elegance of geometric simplicity.

Architecture, to me, is more than form and function. It’s a living archive of human history, innovation, and craftsmanship. I’m drawn to the details—ornate carvings, aged wood, evolving styles—that tell stories across time. Walking through these spaces feels like stepping into art and history, where I can almost touch the past and sometimes even smell it.

As someone who deeply cares for our environment, I also turn my lens toward nature—especially the parts we risk losing. I want to preserve the beauty of our natural world for future generations, who may see a very different landscape than we do today. If people can experience the awe and serenity I feel when I’m outside, I believe more of us will be inspired to protect the Earth and all its living beings.

Through my photography, I hope to share that moment of stillness, that breath of wonder, and the quiet love I feel for both the manmade and the natural world.
